ahhh so hence the username househens

Is there a "scientific reason" why they don't lay eggs? Strange diet? Watching too much tv? :-D...

We got permission from the landlord so we're going for it. I can't make decisions based on "one day maybe".

I'm so excited and can't wait. The kids have already named them Ada, Emily and Tooth.

If anyone could give opinions on this coop I would appreciate it - given I don't expect it to last more than a year.

I believe silkies make devoted mums, and are most happy to be cuddled, but it is all theory to me. I won't kill anything, or sell or give away for someone else to kill, so I can't breed anything.

I have 3 blue Langshans, that seem to believe they won lotto and they have just retired early. One periodically lays a sparrow sized egg, hard as a rock, under the coffee table. One is a he/she or she/he. 2 are sitting on the back of my sofa, as I type. My favorite sometimes tidies my hair for me, if I lean ...

Or,,,

Move into garage and have the house become the most famous luxury free range/barn laid eggs, in the world. Sell to Gwyneth Paltrow. Have to take up the carpets, tho. Tho my lot are always inside, and don't lay anything. Just leave complaints about housekeeping and less war doco's, more Midsomers and Brit comedies, and of course, not enough hen content. Luckily, we're mainly ABC, so no KFC ad's....

Everything you said, true, and I was going to say what chooky said. Great to water the garden with the dirty water. If you wanted really cuddly ducks, you'd have to have them hatch and imprint on you, but then, if you go out, they will freak and bellow. I'd just like to share...

A lot of my keys have their letters rubbed off. I went the whole post typing my d's as f's, my f's as d's....
